What whisky does to Kirubi

Whisky tastes great, makes one feel good and allows one to escape from their problems for a short time. It can also make one utter unrefined words as it was with entrepreneur Chris Kirubi.  Speaking recently during the unveiling of East Africa’s first whisky festival, dubbed Love Whisky Festival, DJ CK said the drink leaves him, uh, very excited: “Whisky makes me h****!” His statement left some of the patrons in attendance in stitches while others were too embarrassed to speak. Kirubi, however, overcame this ‘awkward’ moment and went on with his speech as if he had said nothing unusual.

Naivasha 'Vampire' cuts his five year old son and drinks his blood

Residents of a Village in Gilgil are in shock after a man went berserk and slashed his five year old son and drunk his blood. Shock and anger gripped residents of Karunga village after the bizarre incident only witnessed in horror movies. The ' vampire' was rescued by police after members of the public set on him for the beastly act which left many in fear. The minor who was nursing injuries on various parts of the body was admitted in a local health centre as area residents tried to come to terms with the incident.
According to a witness Monica Wambui, the man used a knife to slash the minor in various parts of the body before sucking the blood. The neighbour said that this was not the first time the minor had been spotted nursing injuries on various part of his body. "The mother stumbled on the father licking blood from a fresh wound on the back of the minor and she raised the alarm," said the witness. She added that the mother had on previous occasions questioned the injuries inflicted on the minor but the husband had warned her not to report the incident. Gilgil OCPD Serah Koki confirmed the arrest but was quick to deny that the suspect had been drinking the minors’ blood. She said that initial investigations indicated that the suspect attacked the minor using a sharp object after a domestic row. "We have had rumours of blood sucking and this is untrue but investigations are going on over the incident," she said Koki added that the suspect would be arraigned in court facing various charges as investigations into the incident continued. "The suspect will be arraigned in court facing various charges and the minor is recuperating after the unfortunate attack," she said. In the village, the locals threatened to lynch the suspect if he was bonded by the court terming the incident as inhuman. "This is one of the worst incident in this area and we shall teach the suspect a lesson if he is released by the law courts,"

2. Having a hard time finding love Having a difficult time finding a mate can shave off months of your life, while being single for prolonged periods of time could cost you a whole decade. On top of all this, another study found that never getting married could increase risk of death over a lifetime by 32 percent

Spending a lot of time in front of your TV Watching just two hours of television a day can lead to an increased risk of premature death, heart disease and Type 2 diabetes, according to Harvard researchers. According to the New York Times, "every single hour of television watched after the age of 25 reduces the viewer’s life expectancy by 21.8 minutes." 5. Eating too much unhealthy foods As far as what foods to especially avoid, eating red meat seems to shorten life expectancy by as much as 20 percent when eating extra portions.
6. Still looking for a job Being unemployed can increase a person's risk of premature death by 63 percent, according to findings by Canadian researchers after analyzing 40 years of data from 20 million people in 15 countries.

7. Long hours of commuting Commutes of about an hour have been found to increase stress and have been linked to the same negative effects as sitting.
 8. Lack of sex for extended periods of time A study among men found that failing to orgasm for extended periods of time can potentially cause your mortality rate to be 50 percent higher than for those who have frequent orgasms.

Pope Francis 'sneaks out of Vatican to help poor'

A recent interview with Archbishop Konrad Krajewski, the "Almoner of His Holiness," raised speculation that the Pope joins him on his nightly trips into Rome to give alms to the poor, and it turns out that the rumors are probably true.
A knowledgable source in Rome told The Huffington Post that "Swiss guards confirmed that the pope has ventured out at night, dressed as a regular priest, to meet with homeless men and women." Krajewski earlier said, “When I say to him ‘I’m going out into the city this evening’, there’s the constant risk that he will come with me," and he merely smiled and ducked the question when reporters asked him point-blank whether the Pope accompanied him into the city.

Phone service texts threaten to break marriage

A woman who has been married for three years in Rukuriri Market, Embu County landed in trouble after her husband’s nephew subscribed to a love messages service through her mobile phone. The woman started receiving love messages, making her husband suspicious. “Who sent you this message? Do you think I will keep you here and watch you engage in affairs?” This was always followed with kicks and blows. Unknown to her husband, the subscriber was his nephew who had visited them some few weeks earlier. So serious were the ?ghts that the village elders were called.
“I started receiving such text messages when his nephew was here. I’m not interested in other men because I love him,” she told the elders. She revealed that she had been unable to stop the messages. “Every time he comes home he must check my phone messages and call history to check who I have communicated to,” she said. It was when we were listening to the elders when a recently graduated teacher who teaches at the same school with the father of two arrived and ordered he be offered the phone to help unsubscribe from the service. The elders questioned the two closely and realised the woman was saying the truth. They sought help from a neighbour who knew how to unsubscribe the service. Only after receiving a con?rmation message did the woman feel relieved. The husband apologised for misunderstanding his wife. He, however, warned not to give out her phone to people who might subscribe to such services. “Even if it is your sister, let her tell you what she wants then you do it for her. If you don’t know how to go about it — leave it undone,” he warned.
