A highly sophisticated combat rifle used by special units of the Kenya Defence Forces that was lost at the Westgate shopping mall has not been recovered.
The light gun, widely known by its abbreviated name as SCAR (Special forces Combat Assault Rifle) was used by one of the soldiers killed in the operation.
It is unclear how the rifle may have been lost, considering that when the military took over the rescue operation, no one else was allowed access into the besieged mall.
A background research on the kind of semi-automatic gun that the Scar is, reveals that it is one of the newest rifles to have been produced, making it a far more superior weapon than the widely used AK 47s and M16s.
The American-made rifle is described as light, fast-handling and quick-shooting which makes it an ideal weapon for combat.
It can also be adaptable to both right and left-handed people because its cheating handle are on both sides.
